| Waterfowl numbers | 3500 ducks loafing on ice and keeping small pocket of water open in middle of reservoir; mostly Mallards, some wigeons and mixed divers. 3000 mostly dark geese. 99% Ice covered; majority of waterfowl observed feeding in fields on private property, but may be opportunistic field hunts on public land west of reservoir and along river. Refuge is closed to all access. |
